About C.E. Winship

C.E. Winship writes stories about women: the ones who kept secrets, the ones who loved who they weren’t supposed to, and the ones history didn’t bother to write down. A lot of her books are sapphic. Some are mysteries, some are ghost stories, and some are just about people getting through hard years.

She writes for the love of it. There’s no publisher and no price tag, which is why every book on this site is free to read from the first page to the last.

Why put them online?

Because books are meant to be read, and a finished manuscript sitting in a folder isn’t doing anyone any good. If you know her, this is the easiest way to read what she’s been working on. If you don’t, you’re very welcome too.

What she writes about

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. This paragraph is a placeholder for a few lines in her own words about where the ideas come from, what she likes to read, and the places and periods she keeps coming back to.

Saying hello

If you’ve read one of the books and want to tell her what you thought, or you’ve spotted a typo, email hello@cewinship.co.uk. She reads everything, though it might take a little while to reply.

If a book deals with something difficult, its page lists content notes before you start.

Reading settings

The rain had not stopped since Tuesday. She lit the lamp, pulled the blanket over her knees and opened the book where she had left it.
